Fishing on Mount Lemmon

High in the Santa Catalina Mountains, Mount Lemmon offers anglers a refreshing escape from the desert heat, and, the chance to cast a line in cool alpine waters. Just a short drive from the Lodge, you’ll find a peaceful lake and a couple of season streams surrounded by tall pines and granite outcroppings, making for a memorable day of fishing.

Rose Canyon Lake

The centerpiece of fishing on Mount Lemmon is Rose Canyon Lake, a six-acre reservoir located about four miles from Summerhaven. Stocked regularly with rainbow trout by Arizona Game & Fish, it’s a favorite spot for families and serious anglers alike. Whether you’re fishing from the shoreline or casting from one of the shaded picnic areas, the setting is as rewarding as the catch.

Marshall Gulch & Seasonal Streams

While not a primary fishing destination, the small streams near Marshall Gulch sometimes flow with cold mountain water, adding to the alpine charm. These areas are best for those who enjoy exploring creeks rather than casting seriously, but they make for a scenic stop during a picnic or hike.
