Snow Skiing at Mount Lemmon’s Ski Valley
When winter arrives, Mount Lemmon transforms into Arizona’s southernmost ski destination. Just minutes from the Lodge, Mount Lemmon Ski Valley offers a unique alpine experience where you can carve fresh turns by day and relax by the fire at night.
At an elevation of 9,150 feet, Ski Valley features more than 200 acres of skiable terrain, with a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs. From gentle slopes perfect for first-timers to steeper trails that challenge seasoned skiers, it’s a mountain that delivers fun for all abilities. A scenic chairlift whisks you to the summit, where crisp air, pine forests, and wide-open views make it easy to forget you’re just an hour’s drive from the Sonoran Desert.
Beyond downhill skiing, visitors can enjoy snowboarding, sledding, and even snowshoeing in the surrounding areas. Equipment rentals and lessons are available on-site, making it easy to get out on the snow even if you didn’t pack your own gear.
And when it’s time for a break, the Iron Door Restaurant at the base area offers hearty mountain fare and warm drinks, while the sunny deck is perfect for soaking in the views between runs.
Whether you’re teaching the kids to ski, chasing powder turns, or simply riding the chairlift to take in the winter scenery, Mount Lemmon Ski Valley delivers a memorable alpine escape—right in the heart of southern Arizona.
